BREVARD COUNTY, Florida – Two people were killed and two others seriously injured in a crash that occurred on State Road 407 south of the interchange with I-95 on March 17, 2018.
55-year-old Argelio Chappotin of Melbourne, Florida was driving a 2016 Ford Edge northbound on State Road 407 around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Meanwhile, 60-year-old Larry Stubbs of St. Petersburg, Florida was driving a 2000 Buick southbound on State Road 407.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the Ford traveled into the southbound lanes for an unknown reason and struck the Buick head-on.
Chappotin was transported to Parrish Medical Center in Titusville, Florida where he was pronounced deceased.
Martha McHenry, also of St. Petersburg and a passenger in the Buick, was transported to Wuestoff Hospital in Rockledge, Florida where she was pronounced deceased.
Margaret McHenry, also of St. Petersburg and another passenger in the Buick, and Stubbs were transported in serious condition to the trauma center at Homes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Florida.
The crash remains under investigation.
