I-95 Re-Opened In Brevard County After Brush Fire Closure

UPDATE: As of 9 a.m. on Monday, April 30, 2018, all lanes have reopened on I-95 in Brevard County.

PALM BAY, Florida – All lanes on I-95 southbound and northbound are closed from mile marker 156 to 173 due to a brush fire in Brevard County, Florida.

As a detour, take exit 173 for Malabar Rd or exit 176 for Palm Bay Road and turn left. Then, continue approximately 4 miles to US-1 and turn right. Continue on US-1 for approximately 14 miles to Sebastian Boulevard and turn right to return to I-95.

Dubbed the #MiccoScrubFire, the 600 acre fire was 95% contained at by 8 a.m. on Monday. Fire rescue crews from the Palm Bay Fire Department, Brevard County Fire Rescue, and the Florida Forest Service are battling the blaze.

The brush fire jumped Babcock Street in Palm Bay on Sunday, causing Micco Road west of I-95 past Babcock Street and Babcock Street to Sotile Canal to close.
