MIAMI, Florida – NOAA’s National Hurricane Center issued a Special Tropical Weather Outlook which predicts a 0% chance that a tropical cyclone will form off the coast of Florida within the next 5 days.
However, the system could still bring heavy rains and gusty winds to the Sunshine State.
A large area of showers and thunderstorms near the Bahamas is associated with an upper-level low pressure system and a surface trough.
NHC forecasters predict that the system will westward over the Florida peninsula on Saturday with no significant development.
Locally heavy rains and gusty winds are possible over portions of the Bahamas and southern Florida through this weekend.
