ROCKLEDGE, Florida -The State Attorney’s OFfice filed an Information charging 16-year-old Bradley Jamal Bell as an adult for bringing a firearm to Kennedy Middle School in Rockledge, Florida.
Bell is charged with one count of Discharge of a Weapon on School Property (F-2), one count of Possession of a Weapon on School Property, one count of Grand Theft, and one count of Possession of a Firearm by a Minor under Eighteen.
“While Bell has no prior history in the juvenile justice system, the troubling and serious nature of the offenses identified by the Rockledge Police Department, warrant this decision,” Florida State Attorney Phil Archer stated.
“By bringing a firearm onto school property and discharging it in the presence of other students, Bell’s actions require the sanctions available in the adult criminal justice system, to ensure the safety of everyone on Brevard County school campuses.”
Bell’s next scheduled court appearance will be on May 9th, 2018 at 1:30 pm at the Brevard County Jail.
As of May 8th, the firearm allegedly used by Bell has not been recovered.
