Rockledge High School Teacher Said He’s Student’s Spirit Husband, Demonic Energy Came From Bathroom

ROCKLEDGE, Florida – Edward Tardif, a former Rockledge High School teacher was placed on two years probation and barred from applying for a teacher’s certificate for 5 years by the Florida Department of Education after he allegedly told students that demonic energy came from the bathroom, a student was his “spirit daughter,” he was another student’s “spirit husband,” and he attempted to smoke with a student, contacted students through social media at inappropriate times, and held meditation in his classroom during the 2017-2018 school year.

The FDOE complaint also cited other disciplinary issues with Tardif, including that he submitted false information relating to his past law enforcement duties when he applied to Rockledge High School in 2014.

Tardif settled the FDOE teacher disciplinary action without admitting or denying the allegations that was accepted in a Final Order on July 23, 2019.

Brevard Public Schools issued a letter of reprimand and notified Tariff in May 2018 the he would not be recommended for re-appointment to the school board.

Tardif was the Criminal Justice Academy Director for Brevard Public Schools whose program was highlighted by the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office in May 2017 on Facebook when BCSO unveiled its “Decide Your Ride” bus that is painted half school bus and half jail transport bus.
