Brevard County Men Seriously Injured In Orange County Fatal Crash

BITHLO, Florida – An Orange County man died and two Brevard County men were seriously injured as a result of injuries they sustained in a crash that occurred on State Road 50 (Colonial Drive) near the intersection of Berkeley Street in Bithlo, Florida.

Just after 10 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2019, 45-year-old Efrain DeLawrence, of Chuluota, Florida, was driving a 2010 Mazda 3 westbound on Colonial Drive.

Meanwhile, 20-year-old Clint Vinson, of Cocoa, Florida, was driving a 2012 Volkswagon eastbound on Colonial Drive with 21-year-old Kyle McFall as a passenger.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, DeLawrence lost control of the Mazda 3 which then crossed the grassy median and traveled into the eastbound lanes of Colonial Drive.

The front of the Mazda 3 struck the front of the Volkswagon head-on.

DeLawrence was transported from the scene to the Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Vinson and McFall were transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

All three men were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.

According to FHP, Vinson was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

A toxicology report is still pending for DeLawrence.
