Fake coupons and deals are appearing online during this year’s Black Friday 2019 holiday season that target major retailers.
A fake $100 Kohl’s coupon and $75 Costco coupon are both currently circulating on Facebook and online.
Consumers are being duped that they will receive a $100 Kohl’s department store coupon just by answering a few survey questions to celebrate Kohl’s 57th Anniversary.
“This is a scam,” the fact-checking website Snopes.com declared.
KOHL’S REAL DEAL: Black Friday shoppers can earn $15 Kohl’s cash for every $50 spent at Kohl’s from Thanksgiving Day, November 25 through November 29, 2019, that is redeemable November 30 through December 9, according to Kohl’s Black Friday ad.
Costco wholesale club took to Facebook to let its customers know that a $75 Costco coupon is also a scam.
“Despite several posts out there, Costco is NOT giving away $75 coupons. While we love our fans and our members, this offer is a SCAM, and in no way affiliated with Costco,” the wholesale retailer announced. “Thanks to our fans for letting us know about this recurring hoax!”
