TARPON SPRINGS, Florida – A Florida man explained to police that he was speeding in excess of 90 mph in a 55 mph zone because he had cheated on his wife and needed to get home in a hurry.
52-year-old Jon Earl Pickard, of Palm Harbor, Florida, was driving a 2015 Honda on U.S. Route 19 when he was pulled over by a Tarpon Springs Police officer Sunday evening.
Pickard allegedly told police that “… his driving was reckless and endangering because he needed to get home in a hurry because he was cheating on his wife…”
After being arrested for reckless driving, police searched Pickard and discovered crack cocaine in his shirt pocket.
The Florida man was additionally charged with possession of cocaine and booked into the Pinellas County Jail on a $2,250 bond.
