Golfview Elementary Teacher Arrested In Cocoa Prostitution Sting

Michael Patrick Fitzpatrick

COCOA, Florida – Michael Patrick Fitzpatrick, a P.E. teacher at Golfview Elementary Magnet School, was among four men arrested in a prostitution sting operation in Cocoa, Florida.

The Cocoa Police Department conducted the sting operation on the corner of Third Avenue and Peachtree Street after citizens complaints that the area was being frequented by prostitutes.

Just before 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, a female detective with the Cocoa Police Department was posing as a prostitute when 48-year-old Fitzpatrick of Cocoa Beach, Florida pulled up in a white Ford Explorer and allegedly asked the female detective “if she was working.”

The female detective replied yes and a deal was allegedly made for a sexual act.

The female detective then directed Fitzpatrick to drive to a certain location where a marked police car rolled up to make the arrest.

According to the arrest affidavit, Fitzpatrick spontaneously uttered to police that he “wasn’t even going to pick her up” and that he “didn’t know it was illegal if he didn’t exchange money with her.”

The three other men arrested in the sting operation are Marquavis Dion Greggs,  James Michael Swinton, and James Michael Johnson. All three men reside in Cocoa, Florida.
