BREVARD COUNTY, Florida – Kalab Thomas Bradford was charged with second-degree murder in a shooting that occurred just after 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, in unincorporated Brevard County between Sharpes and Port St. John, Florida.
Brevard County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the shooting in the 300 block of MacArthur Circle where they discovered 34-year-old Mark Edward Hurst with a gunshot wound to the chest.
After Sheriff’s deputies secured the scene, Brevard County Fire Rescue crews arrived to treat the victim.
However, Hurst succumbed to his injury at the scene and BCFR canceled a helicopter to airlift the patient to a trauma center.
A BCFR rescue unit then transported the deceased to Rockledge Regional Medical Center where he was officially declared.
After Hurst was officially declared deceased, a warrant was issued charging 20-year-old Bradford with murder without premeditation.
Bradford was booked into the Brevard County Jail where he is being held without bond.
