VOLUSIA COUNTY, Florida – A 39-year-old man from Palm Bay, Florida did not survive the injuries he sustained after being hit by a vehicle on I-95 around 4:30 a.m. on Monday, November 11, 2019.
24-year-old Latecia Williams of Daytona Beach, Florida was driving a 2016 Hyundai northbound on I-95 in the center lane.
Meanwhile, the Palm Bay man was attempting to walk across I-95 from the west side to the east side near mile marker 241.
That’s when the front of the Hyundai struck the pedestrian.
Prior to being hit by the Hyundai, the Palm Bay man was involved in a previous crash where his vehicle struck the guardrail and became disabled, FHP reports show.
The Palm Bay mas was pronounced deceased at the scene and transported to the Volusia County Medical Examiners Office.
According to FHP, Williams was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
A toxicology report is pending for the Brevard County man.
The crash remains under investigation.
