4 Fort Pierce Men Killed In Crash On I-95 Near Titusville

TITUSVILLE, Florida – Four people died in a vehicle accident involving a semi-truck that occurred just after 6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, near mile marker 221 and Garden Street in Titusville, Florida.

A 30-year-old Fort Pierce man was driving a 2018 Dodge Ram pickup truck hauling a trailer with an excavator on the trailer southbound on I-95 in the right lane.

Meanwhile, 60-year-old Charles Doles of Georgia was driving a semi-truck car hauler southbound on I-95 in the center lane.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the left rear axle with two tires attached separated from the trailer being hauled by the Dodge Ram pickup.

The axle traveled into the center lane and under the semi-truck. The semi-truck driver lost control and the semi traveled into the right lane, striking the Dodge Ram.

Both the semi-truck and the Dodge Ram left the roadway and traveled onto the should.

The Dodge overturned and the semi-truck jackknifed.

Two occupants of the Dodge Ram were ejected and the Dodge Ram came to a final rest underneath the semi-truck.

The driver and three male passengers ages 38, 50, and 58 of the Dodge Ram, all of Fort Pierce, Florida, died.

The semi-truck driver did not sustain any injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
