Port Saint John Man Charged With Killing His Brother-In-Law

Daniel Diemer was arrested for the shooting death of his brother-in-law Alfred Zepeda, III.

PORT SAINT JOHN, Florida – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office arrested 26-year-old Daniel Diemer of Port Saint John, Florida for the shooting death of his 45-year-old brother-in-law Alfred Zepeda, III.

The investigation began yesterday at approximately 4:30 p.m. when an emergency 911 call was received regarding a person being shot.

When deputies arrived, they found Zepeda wounded inside the residence. Deputies also located and detained Diemer at the scene.

Investigators say that Diemer was causing a disturbance at the residence. Zepeda and his wife, who is Diemer’s sister, came to the residence to help calm the situation.

As Zepeda entered the residence through a side garage door, he was shot by Diemer. Zepeda was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injury.

An autopsy will be conducted by the Brevard County Medical Examiner.

Diemer was arrested after an arrest warrant was issued by a judge charging him with Second Degree Murder.

He was taken to the Brevard County Jail where he is being held on a No Bond status.
