St. Cloud Man Dies, Ohio Woman Severely Injured In Osceola County Crash

KISSIMMEE, Florida – A St. Cloud, Florida man died as a result of injuries he sustained in a crash that occurred on Osceola Parkway near the intersection with Storey Lake Boulevard in Osceola County, Florida just after 8 a.m. on Monday, December 2, 2019.

22-year-old Hope Balser of Avon, Ohio was driving a 2017 Jeep SUV westbound on Osceola Parkway.

Meanwhile, 50-year-old Jose Figueroa Rivera was driving a dump truck eastbound on State Road 46.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Balser attempted to make a left turn to travel south onto Storey Lake Boulevard.

That’s when the front of the dump truck struck the right side of the Jeep.

The dump truck then overturned. Rivera was not wearing a seat belt and was partially ejected.

Rivera was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was later transported to the Osceola County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Balser was transported to Osceola Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, according to FHP reports.

The crash remains under investigation.
