LAKE BUENA VISTA, Florida – The Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance ride broke down just minutes after opening today as part of Disney’s $1 billion Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge expansion at Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios.
“Rise of the resistance broke down after about 18 minutes,” one park guest tweeted.

#RiseOfTheResistance was well worth the wait! Well, the probably 75% I got through before it broke down. But hope everyone who waited this morning gets the chance to experience the journey. #WaltDisneyWorld #HollywoodStudios #GalaxysEdge

According to Disney, the new attraction is “one of the most immersive, ambitious and technologically advanced attractions ever created for a Disney park.”
In one of the longest Disney attraction experiences ever, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance blends the traditional attraction design of a “queue,” “preshow” and “ride” into a seamless, holistic experience full of rich details on a cinematic scale.
