Some Brevard County Beach Parking To Open Saturday

BREVARD COUNTY, Florida – Some Brevard County beach parking will open on Saturday, May 2, 2020, after the Brevard County Commission voted 4 to 1 to open beach parking lots and parks during a Special Meeting on Thursday.

Brevard County Commissioner Bryan Lober was the sole “no” vote.

Beach parking within the cities of Cocoa Beach, Cape Canaveral, Satellite Beach, Indian Harbour Beach, Indialantic, ​and Melbourne Beach remains closed.

County parking from Patrick Air Force Base to Spessard Holland Beach Park in Melbourne Beach will remain closed until a beach renourishment project finishes on Thursday, May 7, 2020.

The County Commission decided to reopen beach parking lots in response to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ Phase 1 reopening of Florida’s economy.
