Sheepshead and Black Drum At Cocoa Beach Pier October 17, 2011

As of 8:00 a.m. on Monday October 17, 2011, jelly fish are not present throughout Cocoa Beach from Coconuts on the Beach northward to Jetty Park in Cape Canaveral despite strong winds from the East.

Waves are 1 to 3 feet and choppy.  Today is a windsurfing day – not a surfing day.

The presence of Sargasso seaweed is low.

Today is a challenging day for surf fishing because the water is churned up from the wind.

However, rainy weather later this evening from an advancing tropical low is a good incentive to get out and fish today.

Sheepshead, Red Drum, Black Drum, Whiting, and Blue Fish have been hitting on shrimp this past week.
Nice day for jogging on the beach and windsurfing due to the 8-12 m.p.h. sustained winds.
Current Temps: Water 79 F    Air 79 F

20 Mile Cape Canaveral Buoy: 3.9 Ft. swell every 6 seconds.

Tides:
10:58 AM High
04:54 PM Low
11:00 PM High
