Magnitude 1.1 Earthquake Rocks Southern California

The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting that an earthquake of around Magnitude 1.1 has hit near the Palm Springs Area in Southern California within the last hour (6:32 p.m. Pacific Time) on Saturday November 5, 2011.

The epicenter was five miles east east from Idyllwild, California, 8 miles southwest of Palm Springs, 72 miles north-northeast of Sand Diego, and only 3.2 miles deep.
