Flaming Debate Over Chick-fil-A Traditional Family Stance

UPDATE: Pro-Gay Protest At Viera Chick-fil-A Scheduled August 1

A flaming debate has enveloped around the Chick-fil-A fast food chain after remarks made by Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy to the Baptist Press that, “We don’t claim to be a Christian business … But as an organization we can operate on biblical principles … We are very much supportive of the family — the biblical definition of the family unit.”

Those statements have drawn outcries from pro-homosexual groups along with boycott messages on Chick-fil-A’s facebook page.  But right along with the detractors came messages of support who called for a “boycott of the boycott” by going to to eat at Chick-Fil-A.

“Thank you for standing against gay marriage. Wish more companies would follow your example,” wrote one supporter.

An opponent wrote, “Every company can follow any moral code they choose just as I can choose never to eat at Chick-fil-A again just as I hope every other person will do!”

  • Good, then the line will be more accessible for those of us who eat there all the time. We love to eat at Chick-fil-A. It is refreshing to know there are still businesses with morals. They are a Blessed company!!!

  • Our Bible speaks against men with men and women with women! Just like any other sin. You don't see the drunks marching in the street arguing for their rights to stay drunk, grow up you people! It's a sin now get over it. All the marching and protests will change God's mind on this. God never changes! Thank goodness!

  • Christian Morals? Like say the epidemic of child molesting Catholic priests?Christian Morals, like say the westboro baptist church protesting service members funerals?Gandhi said it best: “I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.”

  • The term "christian morals"is an oxymoron at best, though usually when I hear it and especially in this case, it's just outright B/S! What happened to "loving your neighbor" and doing unto others as you'd expect others to do to you? I could go on, but I doubt this guy has ever bothered to actually read, much less understand the book he seems to hide behind while out spreading bigotry in it's name.

  • According to the law, there is no such thing as consenting adolescents because they are not of age to consent. Obviously, animals can not give consent and that is an idiotic argument to compare two adults to an animal and an adult. Polygamous marriage is only difficult by a legal standpoint. If 5 woman want to share 1 man, that is their choice and not yours to make. The point is, your neighbor's gay marriage doesn't affect you in any way so be a good christian and don't judge others. Isn't that part of the moral code? This is America, land of the free, but only free for those who follow "Christian morals?"

  • I agree with your comment about their good food, but why just consenting adults? Why not consenting adolescents? Also, why not polygamous marriages? And then, why not human-animal marriages? There could be no limit to the perversion society can adopt. Christian morals provide reasonable, effective, time proven boundaries on human behavior. These limits have allowed our society to survive and prosper until now with the most benefits to the most people.

  • Had to drive a couple extra miles to support a business that stands up to the radical homsexual thugs.
