Brevard Symphony Orchestra Romance on the Riviera

MELBOURNE, Florida – The Brevard Symphony Orchestra continues the “DREAM” season with Romance on the Riviera on Saturday, November 17, 2012, at 8:00pm at the King Center for the Performing Arts in Melbourne, FL.
The second concert in the BSO’s 2012/13 Subscription Concert Season will feature works by Chabrier, Lalo, and Tchaikovsky.  Virtuoso violinist Karen Gomyo returns and is the featured guest artist for Edouard Lalo’s Symphonie Espagnole. The evening will begin with Emmanuel Chabrier’s Habanera and conclude with two tone poems by Pyotr Ilych Tchaikovsky, Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture and Capriccio Italien.
“I’m delighted to welcome violinist Karen Gomyo back to the King Center stage for another spectacular performance with the BSO,” said Music Director and Principal Conductor Christopher Confessore, “Karen is a phenomenal artist and a wonderful collaborator.  She gave a thrilling performance with the BSO in April of 2011 – a performance that inspired everyone onstage and in the audience.  We look forward to another electrifying performance from Karen and the BSO!”

“Born in Tokyo, violinist Karen Gomyo grew up in Montreal and New York. Recipient of the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant in 2008, […] Ms. Gomyo plays on a Stradivarius violin that was bought for her exclusive use by a private sponsor.” Source: http://karengomyo.com/bio
