Paul Zembreski Killed In Orange County Crash

UPDATE: FHP has identified the Cocoa, Florida man killed in today’s crash as 33-year-old Paul Zembreski.

COCOA, Florida — The Florida Highway Patrol is reporting that 33-year-old Paul Zembreski of Cocoa, Florida has died as a result of injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle accident that occurred around 7 a.m. on Wednesday near the intersection of State Road 520 and Cocoa Water Plant Road in Orange County, Florida.

FHP says that
Zembreski was driving a 1999 Dodge pickup that was traveling westbound on State Road 520.  Meanwhile, a yet-to-be-identified woman was driving a 2006 Hyundai four-door eastbound on State Road 520.

According to FHP reports, Zembreski attempted to make a left turn onto Cocoa Water Plant Road which placed the pickup into the direct path of the Hyundai.  The front of the Hyundai then struck the right side of the pickup truck.

After the initial collision, Zembreski was ejected from the pickup truck.  He was not wearing his seat belt, FHP says. The woman, who was wearing her seat belt, was airlifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center where she remains in critical condition.

FHP has determined that the accident was not alcohol related. The crash remains under investigation.
