According to the U.S. Naval Observatory, this Full Moon will technically be 99% full at 11:42 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time tonight. A May Full Moon’s seasonal name is known as the Flower Moon, Milk Moon, or Corn-planting Moon.

For those planning a moonlit stroll along the beach on Florida’s Space Coast, this Full Moon brings along with it a 3’9″ Atlantic Ocean high tide that will occur around 8:34 p.m., with a few minutes of variation depending on your exact location.  A very low tide will occur at 2:40 p.m. tomorrow afternoon.

The timing of May’s full moon in 2015 will also likely wash out the Eta Aquarid meteor shower.
