BREVARD COUNTY, Florida – On the Brevard County Public School Board Meeting Agenda that is scheduled to take place tonight at 5:30 p.m. is a proposal to continue to impose a special 1.500 mill capital outlay property tax. The special tax is expected to raise $47 million for school capital outlay projects. Many of the items listed in the official notice are also items that the half-cent sales tax was earmarked to fund. Additionally, this special millage tax would also fund Enterprise Resource Software, the same software project that has drawn criticism by parent activists and auditors. The project is also under investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
