BREVARD COUNTY, Florida – The National Weather Service in Melbourne, Florida, has issued a Significant Weather Advisory that will remain in effect until 4:15 p.m. for all of Brevard County, Florida on Saturday, July 22, 2017.
At 3:00 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms near Kenansville extending through southeastern Orange county, moving east at 10 mph.
Additional strong storms may develop across Brevard and Indian River county.
Wind gusts up to 60 mph will be possible with these storms.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring, and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
Locations impacted include Palm Bay, Melbourne, Rockledge, Sebastian and Cocoa, Florida.
