COCOA, Florida – Cocoa Police detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division are investigating a shooting where a 26-year-old man was wounded.
At approximately 7:38 p.m. on Tuesday, dispatchers received multiple 9-1-1 calls regarding shots fired at the Village Green Apartment complex located at 1717 Dixon Boulevard in Cocoa, Florida.
When officers and fire rescue medics arrived, they located the victim with a gunshot wound. He was treated at the scene and airlifted to the trauma center in critical condition.
According to witnesses, the suspect fled immediately after the shooting. Detectives are in the process of interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence that will lead to the person or persons responsible.
