UPDATE: All southbound lanes have re-opened on I-95. Also, the off-ramp from State Road 528 to I-95 southbound remains closed.

BREVARD COUNTY, Florida – All southbound lanes are shut down on I-95 due to a vehicle fire that occurred around 6 a.m. just south of the State Road 528 interchange.

The State Road 528 on-ramp and off-ramp to I-95 southbound is also closed as Brevard County Fire Rescue crews battle the blaze.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a semi-truck struck a barrier and became fully engulfed in flames.

The driver was transported by Brevard County Fire Rescue to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Florida.
